TYMO Beauty is a global leader in hair styling technology. We are looking for a Senior Industrial Designer who understands that a hair tool is more than an appliance—it is an extension of a person’s identity. Based in our Glendale office, you will be the creative architect of our product roadmap, transforming complex thermal engineering into elegant, iconic tools that millions of people will use to define their style. Key Responsibilities Visionary Product Delivery: Own the full Industrial Design (ID) process for our next-generation product lines. You will transform strategic brand goals into tangible concepts, moving from high-energy sketching and 3D modeling to physical prototype reviews and final production handoff. Design for the "Vanity": Leverage design theory to create a serialized, cohesive brand language. You will ensure every TYMO product provides an "unboxing" level of emotional value, perfectly balancing high-end aesthetics with professional-grade performance. Deep Audience Empathy: Go beyond the surface. Conduct research into how US consumers interact with beauty tech—focusing on ergonomics, compact form factors, and the overall convenience of the styling experience. Global Design Liaison: Act as the vital link between our US design vision and our China-based R&D team . You will ensure that design integrity remains uncompromised through the engineering phase, solving technical hurdles with creative, functional solutions. Defensive Innovation (IP): Partner with our global IP teams to identify patent opportunities. You will use design as a strategic tool to build "competitive moats" and protect TYMO’s unique innovations in the marketplace. CMF & Material Leadership: Lead the exploration of new materials, heat-resistant coatings, and surface treatments (CMF) to ensure our products are as durable and reliable as they are beautiful. Minimum Qualifications The Creative Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or Product Design with a portfolio that demonstrates a sophisticated, premium aesthetic. The Track Record: 5+ years of hands‑on experience in consumer electronics or personal care . You must have a proven history of successfully shipping products to market (3C/Smart Hardware experience is a significant plus). Market Fluency: A deep understanding of U.S. online and offline retail trends. You know what makes a product "pop" on a digital shelf as effectively as it does in a physical store. Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Rhino, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Suite . You possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and how to design for scalability. Preferred Qualifications Award-Winning Mindset: Previous recognition from prestigious bodies such as Red Dot, iF Design, or IDEA. Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Demonstrated success working with teams in China or other international R&D hubs. Passion for Beauty: You follow beauty trends and intuitively understand the difference between a tool that simply "works" and a tool that people love to use. Additional Notes This is an Individual Contributor role for a hands‑on designer who wants to leave a lasting mark on the industry.
