About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Junior Pastry Sous Chef with strong passion for culinary ability, a creative eye for presentation, and a disciplined work ethic. Responsibilities Prepare and execute all assigned pastry menu items with accuracy, consistency, and timeliness Assist in the production of desserts, breads, chocolates, and other pastry elements for service and private events Support daily service, inventory, and restocking to maintain readiness throughout service Ensure all pastry items meet Marea’s quality, portioning, and presentation standards Maintain cleanliness and organization in pastry areas according to DOH and internal standards Collaborate with pastry and savory teams to ensure smooth service flow Assist with seasonal menu development and tastings when directed by the Pastry Chef Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while upholding a positive and professional attitude Special Requirements Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high‑volume, high‑end environment Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods (8–10 hour shifts) Comfortable working in varying kitchen temperatures (hotline, pastry area, walk‑ins, etc.) Ability to bend, reach, and walk up and down stairs as required Punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to Marea’s uniform and hygiene standards are required Qualifications Minimum 3‑4 years of professional pastry experience is a must.
